For 2007-2013 Mazdaspeed 3 drivers, one of the more clever places is the oil catch can. Kozmic Motorsports figured out that a vented, large hose catch can system does something even better: Increase oil longevity. That means horsepower gains are a bonus. Developed after a gauntlet of R&D, testing and actual races that resulted in wins, the system offsets the damage caused by piston blow-by during each cylinder’s combustion event. By drawing out the harmful gases, your oil doesn’t break down as fast.
That leads to a whole host of benefits, including longer life for gaskets and seals, reduced adjustments of your oil pan, main and crank seals and timing cover sealant. It fits in the bumper area for easy draining access, and it has been designed to clear most cold-air intakes. That’s what we mean when we say horsepower gains are a bonus. This kit keeps your oil healthy for longer, keeping you performing well on the track.
